Students will produce an allied health portfolio which is an organized collection of documents chronicling an individual’s career and education: these accumulated documents may then be drawn upon when applying for jobs or other courses, or in order to demonstrate learning.
The initial portfolio will be created and submitted with the certificate and/or license to be evaluated for up to 20 credits of professional core electives by the Dean of Health Sciences and Human Performance (HSHP). This portfolio will be expanded upon and improved during the course of the students’ attendance at OCC and will include many of the projects, essays, reports, and assignments completed within the program.
The final portfolio will again be evaluated by the Dean (HSHP) and used to assess the student learning over the course of their tenure at OCC. Students will find this portfolio useful to document and chronicle their professional development which can be drawn upon for employment or promotion.
