“Close the Loop”
Use Results to Improve the Program
- Assessment activities should be perceived as a means toward improvement of academic programs and not an end in themselves.
- Without being able to demonstrate such use of assessment results, all previous activities fall short of their intended purpose.
- It is essential to “close the loop”!!!
Closing the Loop
- Plan when program faculty will meet to discuss assessment results and determine appropriate action
- Use assessment results to initiate action aimed at improving program
- Remember that the key component is documentation.
- Clearly relate the results back to the intended educational outcomes.
- Keep documentation !!!
