Nurse Paralegal Ocean County College announces a new instructional program for registered nurses to obtain specialized education with medical/legal courses. Ocean County College is not suggesting that RN's leave the nursing profession. The college is suggesting that RN's may want to take these courses or any individual courses for professional development. Ocean County College will award a Certificate in Nurse Paralegal to students who complete the following eight courses: Introduction to Law & Legal Assisting (LAAW 101) Introduction to Nurse Paralegalism (LAAW 110) Introduction to Civil Litigation (LAAW 104) Health Care Law (LAAW 105) Mediation & Conflict Resolution (LAAW 106) Legal Research & Writing (LAAW 206) Medical Legal Ethics (LAAW 210) English I (ENGL 151) English I may be transferred into this certificate program. These courses are scheduled for the 2005 spring semester (January 24, 2005 to May 13, 2005): Introduction to Nurse Paralegalism, Tuesday, 7:25-10:05 Introduction to Litigation, Thursday, 7:25-10:05 Legal Research & Writing, Monday/Wednesday, 6:00-7:15 OR Tuesday, 6:00-8:40. The faculty includes: Edward Kissling, Esquire, B.A., M.A., J.D. Jean Donoghue, Esquire, B.S.N., J.D., R.N. Michael Bateman, Esquire, B.A., J.D. Renee White, Esquire, B.A., J.D., R.N. New students must register in person. Returning OCC students can register online or in person.
