Development Foundations |

This
course is designed to meet
the needs of students who
wish to enter the field of
Internet Development. It
will provide a rigorous treatment
of Hypertext Markup Language
(HTML) using the new XHTML
standard. Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS) will be covered
including external as well
as embedded Style. Both CSS1
and CSS2 will be discussed
and used. A study of JavaScript
will give the students an
introduction to Dynamic HTML
(DHTML), and form a foundation
for more advanced study of
DHTML and JavaScript. Students
will complete hands on projects
as part of the requirements
for the course. Open lab

course is designed to introduce
students to the next phase
in the evolution of Visual
Basic - the integration of
object-oriented programming(OOP),
graphical-user-interface
(GUI), exception handling,
multithreading, multimedia,
file processing, prepackaged
data structures, database
processing, the Internet,
World-Wide-Web client/server
networking and distributed
computing - to enable Web-based
applications to be distributed
to consumer-electronic devices,
such as cell phones and PDA's
as well as desktop computers.
Student must have a working
knowledge of Windows and object-based(Visual Basic)
or object-oriented programming(C++ or Java) languages.
Code C lab fee.
