HEHP 261 American Red Cross(ARC) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) Instructor
American Red Cross(ARC) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) Instructor is being offered this fall on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Upon completion of this exceptional course the successful student has the potential for immediate employment. Students who become certified as ARC Instructors will be more marketable. Students seeking careers in the healthcare profession, including nurses, nurses aids, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, instructors, health and fitness, personal trainers, coaching or sports management would benefit from taking this course. Through successful completion of the ARC requirements you will earn certifications as a CPR/AED (automated external defibrillation) and First Aid instructor. Usually on a volunteer basis, girl and boy scouts, church groups, first aid squads and other organizations may request the need for these courses.

This is an elective course designed to prepare the students with the correct methods to administer and teach the proper CPR and First Aid techniques at both the Lay and Professional Rescuer levels. It is a methodology course which will include the Red Cross Fundamentals of Instructor Training (F.I.T.) designed to instruct students in the various techniques required to become an instructor and evaluator of Red Cross courses. Students will be eligible to receive the following American Red Cross certifications: CPR/AED for the professional Rescuer, First Aid and CPR/AED for Schools and Workplace Instructor, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor. Attendance is mandatory since this is a hands-on course. Upon successful completion, students will be able to conduct classes in the public and school sector. |
