Physical education and health teachers instruct students in sports, recreational activities and healthy lifestyle issues, in order to encourage and develop physical fitness and skills, self-esteem and interpersonal skills.
The Associate in Arts (A.A.), Liberal Arts program allows students to pursue a Health and Human Performance Teacher concentration which can be transferred to four year programs offering majors such as Physical Education and Health Teacher, or Health and Human Performance Teacher. Students are advised to check degree requirements in the catalogs of transfer institutions and/or consult the transfer institution.
