Course Description
BIOL 131 Human Anatomy & Physiology II
4 s.h. (3 + 2)
This course studies the cardiovascular system; the immune system; respiratory, digestive and urinary systems; fluid and electrolyte balance; and reproduction. Dissection and instrumentation reinforce all lecture materials. Dissection and laboratory instrumentation reinforce all lecture material.
Prerequisites: Anatomy and Physiology I BIOL 130 required.
Note: BIOL 130 Human Anatomy & Physiology I is also available online in the Fall of 2007.
Required Text
Students must purchase a special addition of the required text: Saladin, K. S. (2007). Anatomy and Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function (Fourth Edition). New York : McGraw-Hill Publishing, Distance Learning Edition.
Students who have purchased the book previously for A&P I need to purchase a separate access code.
Students must purchase LabPaq and microscope
Students should order and purchase the kit through LabPaq
Order the Anatomy & Physiology LabPaq: AP-2-CAT
However, students should purchase the less expensive AP-2C-CAT if they have the AP-I-CAT from BIOL 130
Microscope with Oil Immersion Lens, available from LabPaq
Students who have already purchased a microscope for BIOL 130 do not need to purchase another.Students should wait to purchase the laboratory LabPaq until the class begins. The kit ships in one day from LabPaq.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition and Fees are based on 4 semester hours and a $100 DL fee.
Safety
The LabPaq kits are safe, cost-effective and environment-friendly. The kits include a lab manual plus the basic equipment and supplies required to complete the full semester of lab assignments described in each manual. Students need to carefully follow the safety guidelines provided.
