CHEM 180 Introductory Chemistry
A one-semester laboratory course designed for those who have not had a high-school science background or for those who have graduated from high school ten or more years ago. This course may be especially useful for those students preparing to enter the para-medical training programs or those wishing to prepare for college chemistry. The following are covered in this course: measurement, matter and energy, elements and compounds, atomic structure, periodic law, nomenclature, equation-writing, ichiometrics, pneumatics, solutions, acids, bases, salts, and oxidation-reduction. High school algebra or MATH 011 recommended.
This course is a wonderful choice for those interested in entering the One Day per Week Nursing Program who have not had high school chemistry or who took it many years ago.

Basic Chemistry with Mastering Chemistry 3e

The book provides clear and logical explanations of chemical concepts, a step-by-step approach to problem solving, varied levels of questions and problems, and worked-out examples relating to the real world. Mastering Chemistry is an integrated suite of resources containing an online version of the textbook, homework management tools and interactive presentation resources.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition and Fees are based on 4 semester hours and a $100 DL fee.
Safety
The At-Home Science kits are safe, cost-effective and environment-friendly. The kits include a lab manual plus the basic equipment and supplies required to complete the full semester of lab assignments described in each manual. Students need to carefully follow the safety guidelines provided.
