Spring Semester 2008

Ocean County College is one of the first community colleges in the Northeastern United States to develop an algebra based Physics II course and place it totally online with both content and laboratory being directed via distance learning. OCC has teamed up with LabPaq to deliver the entire course through WebCT.

PHYS 172 Physics II

Continuation of PHYS 171. This includes a study of electricity and magnetism, sound, light and modern physics.

Prerequisites:
PHYS 171 or equivalent

Dr. Felix Rizvanov is an international biophysicist and an outstanding designer and instructor of online courses in science.

 

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and Fees are based on 4 semester hours and a $100 DL fee.

Safety

The Hands-On Labs LabPaqs are safe, cost-effective and environment-friendly. The kits include a lab manual plus the basic equipment and supplies required to complete the full semester of lab assignments described in each manual. Students need to carefully follow the safety guidelines provided.

Who should take this course online?

• Students who work full time and find it difficult to attend classes face-to-face because of time constraints.
• You must be an excellent student who is comfortable with computers.
• You should be a self motivated, independent learner with excellent time management skills.
• You should have excellent reading comprehension skills. Students who are in developmental courses should not take this course online.
• High school seniors wishing to get a jump start on taking college courses who have already taken PHYS 171 or equivalent.
