Dr. Jim Brown has stepped down as the Dean of Science, Engineering, Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ocean County College to devote himself to teaching full-time as an Associate Professor of Science at OCC teaching courses primarily in Microbiology, the Biological Sciences and the Health Sciences. Dr. Brown and his wife have adopted 3 more children and decided to teach online during the summer months and enjoy his "new" family at the Jersey Shore.

Dr. Brown was an early pioneer of teaching online and is an award winning designer of online courses. He recently developed Microbiology totally online which is one of the first in the nation to do so. Dr. Browns expertise in microbiology, biology, and public health have brought him numerous awards including citations from both houses of Congress, the highest award in public health in New Jersey and a reputation as a world-class microbiologist.
