Education and Career Opportunities System (ECOS) It is beneficial for students to log on to this site and create their own account for information about colleges and for assistance in career planning.  In order to create your account you will need to have Ocean County College's member code.  Contact Mary Ann Richards, Tech Prep Counselor at 732-255-0400, extension 2067 to obtain the OCC member code number.  Once you have obtained the number go to any Internet ready computer and access the Internet.  ECOS can be found at http://ecos.princetonreview.com Click on Student and then Create A New Account.  Input all information and click Submit Account Set-up. You may access ECOS in school, at home, or both.  Once your account has been set up, it can be accessed from any Internet ready computer.  However, if you have never accessed ECOS from a particular computer, you may have to enter the school's member code. New Users You will be asked to complete a portfolio.  You need not complete it the first time on.  Simply answer a few questions and click "Save and Continue" at the bottom of the page, and finish it at a later time. Career and College Data You can view the most recent Career, College and College Major data.  You can view the careers in which you are interested, find out information about that career, its occupational outlook, and current salaries paid in that field.  The career profiles also describe the training and education required for each occupation. You can also find the most up-to-date profiles and deadline information for the colleges in which you are interested and to which you would like to apply.  Applications to many colleges can be completed on line.  All information can be saved in your online "locker" so it need not be completed at one sitting. Career Assessment ECOS now has its own career assessment test (CAREER KEY) and corresponding research information. You will be able to determine your interests and how those interests translate into careers that may be good choices for you.  There is no charge for using this assessment test. Test Prep Should you need to take the SAT and ACT for transfer purposes, ECOS offers online test preparation to all OCC students at no charge.  There are currently three complete SAT and two complete ACT practice tests.  All tests are scored for you letting you know in which areas you need to brush up.  These tests are timed, but you can log off, save their work, and continue at a later time.
