Joint Admissions
and Transfer

NJ Transfer
The NJ Transfer website www.njtransfer.org is a valuable resource to help you select courses
for transfer to four-year colleges. You can plan
an entire academic program for seamless transfer
and can compare your community college programs
to a variety of similar four-year programs. NJ
Transfer also contains extensive information about
admissions and transfer recruitment events.
New Jersey Statewide
General Education Foundation
Most New Jersey Colleges and Universities share
a common foundation of general education courses.
This means that Ocean County College students
can transfer all credits required to complete
the OCC Associate Degree into a wide variety of
baccalaureate programs at participating institutions.
OCC also has a variety of specific transfer agreements
with many colleges and universities.
Transfer agreements for New Jersey schools are found on NJ Transfer. Other specialized agreements include:
KEAN-OCEAN
Ocean County College and Kean University
have established a partnership that enables area
residents to complete selected upper division
and graduate level programs on the campus of Ocean
County College. Undergraduate degree programs
in Accounting, Criminal Justice, English, Elementary
Education, History, Management, Nursing, Physical
Education, Sociology, and Special Education are
currently offered. Biology will be offered
beginning with the Fall 2008 semester. Graduate
programs include master's degrees in Educational
Leadership and Counselor Education as well as
an Executive MBA. Visit Kean-Ocean for current scheduling information, advising

Albright College
Dual Admission Agreement
Ocean County College graduates are guaranteed
admission into a Bachelor’s Degree program
with junior status at Albright College on the
condition that they: graduate from Ocean County
College with an Associate in Arts (A.A.) Degree
or Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree with a minimum
cumulative GPA of 2.0; complete a “Dual
Admissions Intent” form; and satisfy all
other Albright College transfer admission requirements.
All Dual Admissions students can take one Albright
College course per year free of charge while enrolled
as an Ocean County College student (maximum of
three courses lifetime). Ocean County College
students are eligible for the following scholarship
opportunities on the basis of their final grade
point averages at OCC:
Berkeley College
Ocean County College students with a variety
of associate degree options can achieve seamless
transfer to the Berkeley College B.B.A. / B.S.
Degree in Accounting, General Business, Business
Administration, Marketing, Management, Information
Systems Management, Justice Studies, Health Services
Management, and Human Resources Management. Students
must have a cumulative grade point average of
at least 2.0 and may transfer a minimum of 60
semester credits. Berkeley will offer scholarships
to Ocean County College Associate Degree graduates
Fairleigh Dickinson Burgundy
and Blue Connection
Ocean County College participates in a formal
articulation program with Fairleigh Dickinson
University. The Burgundy-Blue Connection (B-BC),
the program is available to any student who is
currently matriculated or intends to matriculate
at Ocean County College. Participants must first
receive an associate degree from Ocean County
College. Upon transfer to Fairleigh Dickinson,
they are awarded a B-BC Achievement Grant of approximately
four thousand dollars ($4,000.00). Two thousand
dollars ($2,000.00) will be awarded each of the
first two years of full-time study at Fairleigh
Dickinson University. In addition Burgundy-Blue
Connection students are eligible for academic
achievement scholarships plus need-based financial
assistance. Ocean County College students accepted
for transfer will be treated on an equal basis
with currently enrolled students with regard to
financial aid and other student support services.
Fairleigh Dickinson Degree
Completion
Ocean County College graduates in A.A. or A.S.
degree programs may transfer up to a maximum of
64 credits to the Bachelor of Arts in Individualized
Studies with concentrations in Hotel and Restaurant
Management or Business and Technology. Courses
in excess of 64 credits are evaluated on a case-by-case
basis. Classes required to complete these degrees
are offered on the Ocean County College campus
or one of its satellite facilities.
Franklin University
Ocean County College has entered into an articulation
agreement with Franklin
University, Columbus, Ohio, which is an accredited
online bachelor's degree business university.
Most programs at Franklin University will accept
the entire associate degree from Ocean County
College and up to 20-24 additional OCC credits.
Franklin University offers the following BS degree
programs online: Accounting; Applied Management;
Business Administration; Computer Science; Digital
Communication; Health Care Management; Information
Technology; Management; Management Information
Sciences; and Public Safety Management. Franklin
University offers financial aid for eligible students.
Georgian
Court College Dual Degree Agreements
Ocean County College participates in Dual Degree
Agreements for five specific degree programs.
Students participating in this dual degree program
will be taking courses at Ocean County College
that will expedite and facilitate their progress
toward a bachelor’s degree at Georgian Court
College. These programs include:

New Jersey Coastal
Communiversity
Ocean County College is a charter member of the
New Jersey Coastal Communiversity. The Communiversity
is an alliance of eight higher education institutions
offering undergraduate and graduate degree and
certificate programs. Associate degrees earned
at OCC in Business Administration, Criminal Justice,
Education, Information Technology, Health Science,
and Liberal Arts transfer to Bachelor degree programs
in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer
Science, Information Systems, Labor Studies and
Employment Relations, Liberal Studies, Marketing,
Nursing, and Special Education.
Other partner schools include Brookdale Community College, Georgian Court University, Kean University, Montclair State University, New Jersey City University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Rutgers. NJIT
Joint Admissions Program
If you are interested in pursuing a bachelor's
degree in engineering, engineering technology,
industrial management or computer science, you
may want to take advantage of our joint admissions
agreement with the New Jersey Institute of Technology
(NJIT), Newark. Under the agreement, you are admitted
simultaneously to a selected associate degree
program at Ocean County College and in a designated
baccalaureate degree program at NJIT. Satisfactory
completion of the OCC program results in automatic
transfer to NJIT with full junior status--even
the application to NJIT is waived.
Northwood University
Direct Transfer Agreement
Northwood University, West Palm Beach, FL, offers
direct transfer to Ocean County College students
with Associate Degrees in the following programs:
Ocean County College students with a 3.5 or higher
GPA receive a $5000 renewable scholarship to Northwood
University. These students must maintain a 3.0
GPA in a full-time BBA degree program at Northwood
University.
Ocean County College students with a 2.8 or higher
GPA receive a $4000 renewable scholarship to Northwood
University. These students must maintain a 2.7
GPA in a full-time BBA degree program at Northwood
University.
Paul Smith’s College,
NY
Ocean County College students with a Liberal
Arts A.A. degree with a concentration in Biology
can achieve seamless transfer into the Paul
Smith’s degree programs in Natural Resources,
Biology, or Environmental Science.
Students can also follow the Liberal Arts A.A.
degree toward the Paul Smith's B.S. degree in
Recreation, Adventure Travel and Ecotourism.
The A.A. degree offers a very flexible pathway
into this innovative program.
Ocean County College students with an A.S. in
Environmental Science can achieve seamless transfer
into the Paul Smith’s B.S. degree program
in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences.
Ocean County College students completing the
A.S. in Business Administration can achieve
seamless transfer into the Paul Smith's B.S.
degree program in Hotel, Resort, and Tourism
Management. OCC students can complete this bachelor's
degree with an additional 4 semesters of study.
The internship requirement, which includes 600
hours of relevant documented work experience,
may be done in the summer.
Ocean County College students completing the
A.S. in Business Administration can also achieve
seamless transfer into the Paul Smith's B.S.
degree program in Business Management and Entrepreneurial
Studies.
Paul Smith's College also has an articulation
agreement with Clarkson University that offers
Business students graduating from Paul Smith's
College an MBA with only one additional year
of study.
The Dual Degree Program is also designed to ease
the transfer process for students moving from
a county college to the state university. In recent
years, approximately half of the transfer students
entering Rutgers each fall have come from a New
Jersey community college. Through participation
in the DDP, such students will have the benefit
of a smooth transition from a recommended transfer
program (RTP) at a county college to an upper-level
baccalaureate degree program at Rutgers.
St. John's University
Ocean County College students with an A.A.
or A.S. degree can now transfer up to 66 credits
-- exclusive of any developmental or remedial
work -- to the following schools at St. John's
University: St. John's College of Liberal Arts
and Sciences, the College of Professional Studies
or the School of Education. Students seeking
to transfer to the Peter J. Tobin College of
Business or the College of Pharmacy and Allied
Health Professions at St. John's will have their
records evaluated to determine acceptance and
award of transfer credit. For more information,

Strayer University

SUNY Maritime,
NY
Students who
complete the Liberal Arts A.S. degree with a
concentration in Science are admitted to the
Bachelor of Science program in Marine Environmental
Science. The Maritime College will accept up
to 75 transfer credits from Ocean County College.
Thomas Edison
Baccalaureate "Degree Pathways
Program"
Ocean County College and Thomas Edison State College
have created a partnership to offer adults in
Ocean County the opportunity to complete one of
five baccalaureate degrees available through Thomas
Edison. Under the "Degree Pathways Program,"
an OCC graduate will be able to transfer immediately
to a baccalaureate program at Thomas Edison where
you can continue your education without leaving
the Ocean County area. You may even apply up to
80 OCC credits to your Thomas Edison degree.
United States Sports Academy
Ocean County College and the United States Sports
Academy, Daphne, AL, have entered into an articulation
agreement for qualified students to pursue a Bachelor
of Sport Science degree in Sport Coaching and
Sport Management. OCC students who have been awarded
AA, AS or AAS degree by Ocean County College and graduate with a GPA of 2.0
or higher will be accepted
into USSA with no application fee. USSA is a special
mission institution of higher learning accredited
by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools.
University
of the Arts Direct Transfer Agreement
Ocean County College and The University of the
Arts, Philadelphia, PA, participate in a Direct
Transfer Agreement in which Ocean County College
students with A.A. Degrees in General Education
with a concentration in Communications will be
accepted as juniors into the B.S. Degree in Communication,
Advertising Concentration, at the University of
the Arts. OCC students are required to have a
3.0 GPA or a strong portfolio of work to qualify
for this agreement.
University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix will transfer up
to 72 Ocean County College credits from the
A.A. or A.S. degree into a variety of Bachelor’s
Degree programs.
