New Jersey public school teachers must acquire 100 hours of professional development over a five-year period.
OCC faculty, in addition to outstanding educators from across the county, work with elementary and secondary school teachers and school districts to offer more than 60 workshops and seminars each semester on a wide variety of topics which include New Jersey’s Core and Cross Content curriculum standards in the classroom, integration of mathematics, science and technology, and instruction for Advanced Placement classroom teachers.

Advanced Placement Summer Institute
Teachers can earn professional development hours or continuing education units by attending AP Workshops and Summer Institutes which are offered through a partnership between Ocean County College and the College Board.
The workshops are designed to support the new or experienced teacher in every aspect of AP course content, organization, and methodology. For administrators and other education professionals, workshops address fundamental issues faced in introducing, developing, and sustaining an AP Program at your institution.
