All NJ STARS students are required to maintain continous enrollment in a full-time course of study unless the student is granted medical leave due to illness of a student or a member of the student's immediate family or emergency leave because of a family emergency. A student may also take a leave of absence from the program if the student is called to partial or full mobilization for State or federal active duty as a member of the National Guard or a Reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States.

Any leave requires approval from the Ocean County College NJ STARS Executive Committee.

If you would like to be assessed for any medical/military leave by the NJ STARS Executive Committee, please complete the Request for Military/Medical Leave form. Submit this form with the appropriate documentation to Elaine Schardien, Coordinator of NJ STARS.
