Transfer to Ocean County College Under NJ STARS as of Fall 2009

Eligibility Requirements:
- Students who have completed 1-2 semesters at another accredited college or university
or
- Students who have not attended another accredited college or university, must enroll in a full-time course of study no later than the fifth semester following high school graduation.
Admissions Requirements:
- Complete an Application for Admission to Ocean County College
and indicate NJ STARS on the application.
- Request official High School transcripts be sent to:
- Office of Registration and Records

- If applicable, request college transcript to be sent to our Registration and Records Office.
- Submit proof of college readiness via one of the following:
- SAT Scores: 540 Critical Reading, 530 Math or
- HSPA Scores: 235 Verbal, 250 Math
- College level math and/or English class
**If a student does not meet any of the above criteria, he/she must take the Accuplacer Test. If it is determined that a student requires developmental coursework, he/she has one year from September 1 following high school graduation to complete any necessary developmental coursework. Students can contact our Testing Center to schedule an appointment for an Accuplacer Test at 732-255-0401. NJ STARS does not cover any semester in which remedial coursework is included.
- For students transferring for the Fall semester, file for FAFSA: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ indicating Ocean County College as First Choice. The College Code for Ocean County College is 002624.
- For students transferring for the Spring semester, edit the FAFSA : http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to indicate Ocean County College as First Choice. The College Code for Ocean County College is 002624. Students must also edit their information on the State site by going to https://www.hesaa.org/SelfServ/jsp/registered/WebAppsGateway.jsp.
- Please note: Do not edit this information before Decemeber 1st.
- Complete an Ocean County College Verification Application for NJ STARS.
- Register as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program.
- Adhere to all Financial Aid Deadlines:
- October 1: New Students Beginning in the Fall Semester
- March 1: New Students Beginning in the Spring Semester
- June 1: Returning Students
