1. Choosing Your Degree
What programs do I have to choose from? OCC offers four different types of programs:
1. Associate of Arts Degree (A.A.): Degree awarded to students who successfully complete programs that emphasize the liberal arts, humanities, and fine arts. Such programs are designed to transfer to a four-year college/university.
2. Associate in Science Degree (A.S.): Degree awarded to students who successfully complete programs that emphasize mathematics, the biological or physical sciences. Such programs are designed to transfer to a four-year college/university.
3. Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.): Degree awarded to students who successfully complete programs which emphasize preparation in the applied arts and sciences for careers, typically at the technical or semi-professional level.
4. Certificate of Proficiency /Certificate of Completion: Certificate programs are designed to equip students with skills to become immediately employable in a wide range of job possibilities.
