• Use Career Services' online 7-step major and career decision-making process
• Set up an appointment with a career counselor to begin exploring career options
• Enroll in ACAD 155 Student Success class
• Attend seminars on career and employment issues
• Get involved in student organizations
• Find work that will give you exposure to the career you are considering
• Attend Study Strategy sessions
• Attend Job & Career Fairs
• Get to know at least one faculty member; make sure he or she gets to know you
• Use online Career, Employment and Counseling services on Ocean Cruiser - My Generic Communities
• See your advisor to get oriented to college, pick courses, explore degree options
• Use njtransfer.org and njedge.org
• Use the resources on www.ocean.edu/career.htm

When you have more than 30 credits:

• Continue career exploration and planning
• Establish solid relationships with faculty members, especially those in your major or who have expertise in an area that interests you
• Assume leadership positions in student clubs
• Attend Career, Job and College Fairs
• Arrange information interviews with people in your area of interest
• Make your transfer plans
