- Use Career Services' online 7-step major and career decision-making process
- Set up an appointment with a career counselor to begin exploring career options
- Enroll in ACAD 155 Student Success class
- Attend seminars on career and employment issues
- Get involved in student organizations
- Find work that will give you exposure to the career you are considering
- Attend Study Strategy sessions
- Attend Job & Career Fairs
- Get to know at least one faculty member; make sure he or she gets to know you
- Use online Career, Employment and Counseling services on Ocean Cruiser - My Generic Communities
- See your advisor to get oriented to college, pick courses, explore degree options
- Use njtransfer.org and njedge.org
- Use the resources on www.ocean.edu/career.htm
When you have more than 30 credits:
- Continue career exploration and planning
- Establish solid relationships with faculty members, especially those in your major or who have expertise in an area that interests you
- Assume leadership positions in student clubs
- Attend Career, Job and College Fairs
- Arrange information interviews with people in your area of interest
- Make your transfer plans
