Medical Insurance & Billing Practices online

This course, offered completely online, provides a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry and is crucial to the claims reimbursement process. A variety of carriers will be covered including Medicare, HMOs, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation and traditional plans with an emphasis on Medicare rules and regulations for billing.  Instruction will be given to accurately complete the CMS-1500 claim form.  Various occupations relating to the health insurance industry will be introduced.  This course provides an introduction, overview and some hands-on coding practice using the Encoder CD provided with book.  Access to the internet/OCC website required.  Textbook, workbook, access code bundle required: Understanding Health Insurance Bundle (must be purchased through OCC Bookstore).
