"I just finished the Microsoft Office 2007 Certificate - Fast Track Program with Donna Parsons and she was just wonderful.  Donna was very patient and understanding, if you had any problems she took the time out to help you and even offered to stay after class.  We need more instructors like her.  I learned a lot more from Donna than the textbook could ever cover.

Allied Health Programs

"I have been an online student in the CEHRS (Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist) course, Fall Semester 2011. John and Marilyn Knight are the instructors. This course is the "cutting edge" for healthcare professionals and those working towards becoming a healthcare professional. This course took the students through hands-on learning on an actual EHR (Electronic Health Record) as well as provided all of the background history/information of the laws required, to prepare us for sitting for the National Certification examination. Working with Ocean County College has been an awesome experience. The faculty is comprised of caring professionals who truly want their students to succeed. I was skeptical at first, as I have taken online classes with other institutions. However, I would, without hesitation, recommend anyone wishing to pursue a career in the healthcare field (in any capacity) to pick up their phone and place a call to Kathy Caro (Administrator Nursing/Allied Health). She is a plethora of information andwill provide you with all you need to know, in terms of possible options, realistic options, etc., in pursuing a career in healthcare. I would highly recommend this institution. My career opportunities are endless. Thank you Ocean County!! By the way, I took this course along with working 55 hours a week and raising a family. It can be done! Thank you!!!

"My experience with Continuing & Professional Education's Allied Health program was both adventurous and spiritual. Not only that I successfully completed two programs (Medical Billing and Medical Coding) in less than 16 months, but I was also able to conquer two very challenging national certification examinations - CMRS (Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist) and the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders).

When I was searching for a long-term stable career, I was fortunate to find the OCC certificate requirements in the bulletin. This provided me with an easy to follow roadmap to further my education, and build a foundation to market my credentials and skills for employers. My most valuable and memorable recollections were the encouragement and thoughtfulness from the faculty members in the program. During the difficult times when I wanted to quit, they would rescue me from disappointment and encourage me to carry through to the end.
