Harassment Policy
The Paramedic provides pre-hospital emergency care to acutely ill or injured patients. This program teaches currently certified New Jersey State EMT's the theoretical knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary to enter the clinical component of the Paramedic training conducted by sponsoring Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) affiliates. The Paramedic program is approved by the New Jersey State Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services. Students successfully completing both didactic and clinical components of this course are eligible to sit for the NJ EMT-Paramedic certification. Admission Requirements
Candidates for the Paramedic Program must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Age 18 by June 1 of the year prior to starting the Paramedic program
- High School diploma or GED
- Current New Jersey EMT certification
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- Evidence of physical and mental ability to perform Paramedic responsibilities
- One year pre-hospital emergency care experience
- Proper demonstration of basic EMT skills
- Acceptance for clinical sponsorship from a participating MICU affiliate. MICU affiliates may have additional acceptance criteria that must be met.

Clinical Sponsorship
Students who anticipate meeting all admission requirements should contact an MICU affiliate for clinical sponsorship no later than May 1 proceeding the September starting date for which they wish to be considered. Clinical sponsors may have additional acceptance criteria that must also be met prior to acceptance into the Paramedic Program. Textbooks additional and are required for the first day of class.
Schedule
Registration starts each August. Classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. and on select Saturdays & Sundays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. beginning each September and running through June.
