If you are a veteran, dependent of a deceased or disabled veteran, or active duty military member, you may be eligible to receive monthly educational assistance from the Veterans Administration while enrolled at OCC.

Get started now by following these steps:

  1. Apply for Veterans educational benefits

    Overview of benefits

    All new students who expect to receive VA educational benefits should contact Veterans Services at 732-255-0400 x2080 or elearningvet@ocean.edu.

  2. Choose a degree program and apply to the college

    Our E-learning curriculum includes degree programs that you can take completely online.

  3. Submit Military Transcripts

    Many veterans or active duty military members may be eligible to receive transfer credits though their military experience and previously earned college credits.

    Submit your official AARTS (The Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System), SMART (Sailor/Marine/ACE Registry Transcript), CCAF (The Community College of the Air Force), Coast Guard Institute, and CLEP Examinations to the Registration and Records Office.

  4. Take the Placement Test

    The College tests incoming students in reading, writing and mathematics skills. The results of these tests have no effect on admission to Ocean County College; their purpose is to help the college place students in courses appropriate to their backgrounds and needs.

    If you are a brand new student and have never attended college, you will need to submit standardized test scores or take the College Placement Test.

    • If you do not have qualifying SAT and/or HSPA Scores you may:
      • Go to the Ocean County College testing center and take the College placement test there if you live locally.
      • If you do not live locally, you can speak with your admissions specialist about the simple steps involved in setting up a proctored test at a remote location.
