THE SPECIFICS

Below you’ll find links to sample works cited entries and in text citations for a variety of commonly used sources from OCC’s library.

First determine what kind of source you’re taking information from — an anthology? online database? — then click on the link for a sample works cited entry and in-text citation.

Remember that these entries must be alphabetized on a “Works Cited” page.  See Formatting Essays for examples.

Anthology Definition

An anthology is a book which contains several essays by different writers. These essays are chosen — and often introduced — by an editor.
