New Degree-SeekingStudents

Students are considered full-time when enrolled in 12 or more credits.
Students are considered part-time when enrolled in 11 credits or less.

  • Many students need to be full-time in order to qualify for insurance reasons or programs such as athletics, among other factors.
  • To graduate in two years, students should enroll in 16 credits per semester or plan to take courses in the summer or winter terms.

EXPRESS ENROLLMENT DAYS

New students are encouraged to attend an OCC Express Enrollment Day. Students can complete all their steps for registration in one day!  Visit the Hub online for available dates and to register for a session!

TESTING: Complete your placement test or submit your test scores to exempt from placement testing.
Visit the Hub online for more information on testing exemptions and scheduling your test.

ADVISING and REGISTRATION: Meet with an advisor to discuss your short and long-term goals.  An advisor will help you choose a degree program and assist you in creating a course schedule for the upcoming semester.

FINANCIAL AID: Meet with a Financial Aid representative to discuss your aid and payment options.

EAT and GET YOUR ID: Enjoy a $1 lunch and get your OCC student ID!

REGISTRATION

Students who do not need help selecting their classes can register online!  Log into Ocean Connect and select the Student Planning tab to get started.
Need help?  Visit the Hub in the Administration Building Lobby, or contact the Hub at 732 255 0482 or hub@ocean.edu

Students who need to speak with an advisor to select classes, but can’t make an Express Enrollment Day, are welcome to come to the Advising Office and speak with an advisor.
The Advising and Transfer Office is open 8-6 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; 8-7 Wednesday; and 8-5 Friday.  Contact Advising at 732 255 0300 or advisingoffice@ocean.edu.

Students taking their classes completely online may schedule an advising appointment.
