The New Novins Planetarium

Each weekend, the Novins Planetarium brings you the brilliance of the night sky with visually exciting shows … all from the comfort of a state-of-the-art digital video theater.  It’s a fun trip for the whole family!

Established in 1970, the Novins Planetarium is one of the largest and most active planetariums in new jersey.

Renovated in 2010, the planetarium’s sky theater features some of the latest projection technology that brings you wonders of the universe in innovative and exciting new ways.

The planetarium dome is a virtual 3-d video space that can take you on a journey to the edge of the universe!  And a fiber-optic star projector provides a beautiful, crisp view of the night sky.

Public shows are presented Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a variety of rotating shows geared for audiences of all ages.

One of the most popular sky shows is the Wonders of the Winter Sky.  This program changes with the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.  It gives the planetarium staff a chance to bring out the beautiful star field of the Zeiss Star Projector and show the bright stars, constellations, and other celestial highlights of the current night sky.
