Rights Club
The purpose of this club is for students to promote
awareness of responsible science, ethical consumerism,
and environmentalism. Members advocate peaceful co-existence
of humans and all of earth's creatures. This organization
strives for enhancing the quality of life for animals
and people.
Circle K
The objectives of this Kiwanis-sponsored organization
are to provide a practical means of forming enduring
friendships, to encourage participation in group activities
and to provide service on campus and in the community.
Educational Opportunity Fund
(EOF) Alliance
Under the umbrella of the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund, the Alliance strengthens the EOF program at Ocean County College by providing guest speakers, offering a support system to peers, providing leadership training, advocating for programming and legislative changes, and participating in the statewide EOF Alliance.
Environmental Club
An organization dedicated to environmental education
awareness and action. Emphasis placed on grass-roots
environmental networking and participation in state
and national organizations. Participation includes outdoor
activities, fun, and friends.
Rotaract (Rotary)
The objectives of this Rotary-sponsored organization
are to provide opportunities to develop leadership skills,
encourage community and campus service, and create group
activities with understanding and goodwill toward all
people.
NJ Community Waterwatch, OCC
Chapter
NJCWW, a statewide organization located on many campuses, is dedicated to education and community service surrounding water quality issues. Here in Ocean County, members work towards K-12 students and community residents about the effects of nonpoint source pollution, or "people pollution," water conservation, and how to be a responsible citizen in the Barnegat Bay Watershed. Participation includes community, river, and beach cleanups,
Adopt-A-Stream (water quality testing), environmental
education presentations, and other outdoor fieldwork
and fun events bringing diverse groups of people together.
OCC Republicans
This club makes known and promotes the principles
of the Republican party among members of the college
campus and community; aids in the election of Republican
candidates at all levels of government; encourages and
assists in the organization and active functioning of
the Republican Party at local, state, and national levels;
and will help develop political skills and leadership
abilities among Republican students as preparation for
future service.
SAGE Foundation
This community based organization is focused on creating and hosting innovative programs to prevent recidivism.
Students Learning about Politics
(SLAP)
The purpose of this club is to expose students to various
political philosophies and to enable students to meet
with political candidates.
