The Vikings won the Region XIX Women's Cross Country title, Saturday (10/24) on a slick, muddy Gloucester County College Course.  An evening and morning of on and off rain caused the slippery conditions.

The OCC women scored 19 points to beat out Gloucester (47 points) and Cumberland (69 points).  Jen Nelson won the individual title, while Alyssa Collier and Erine O'Connor backed her by finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.  Priscilla Robinson (6th) and Lauren Ashman (7th) completed scoring for the Vikings.  Taylor Madden and Elaine Josefowski were 9th and 12th overall.

All seven women competing for Ocean CC earned All-Region Honors.  "The ladies executed on plan of running controlled the entire race.  We wanted to try and win without exerting too much energy.  Each turned the final corner looking calm and collected"

The Vikings will now begin focusing on the NJCAA National Championship Meet held at Finger Lakes CC on November 7th, 2009.
