Ocean County College Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams Host Family Fun Day

The Ocean County College Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams hosted “Family Fun Day” on Sunday, October 9, 2011.  Families were invited to Ocean County Stadium to have fun and learn skills from the OCC soccer players.  Stations were set up around the new turf stadium where children could get coached by the men’s and women’s players on skills like shooting, passing, and dribbling.  Both teams wore pink and voluntary donations were accepted to help raise funds for the National Foundation for Cancer Research. 

OCC Assistant Athletic Director and Women’s Soccer Coach A.J. Trump remarked, “These events develop character and give the athletes the chance to show that they care about the community.   Giving back goes a long way in the social development of our athletes and means a lot to the community of Ocean County.”

After the fun, the participants were invited to watch the men’s and women’s team in action.  Being active in the community is something that the Ocean County College Athletic Department takes pride in.  The teams also plan on participating in the Ocean County North CROP Hunger walk on Sunday, October 16th.
