Ocean County College had two athletes honored as NJCAA Player of the Week for October 14th, 2009! Both Kristina Laureigh and Jennifer Nelson were recognized on the NJCAA website as well in the NJCAA 360 video production for the week of October 14th, 2009.

LaureighLed the defensive effort for Ocean County College last week, as they went 3-0.  The sophomore captain directed a defensive that allowed only two shots on goal over three games last week.  With ten team shutouts on the season, Ocean has allowed only five shots in the past six games with Laureigh in the defense.  OCC Women’s Soccer is ranked #3 in the NJCAA DIII National Soccer Poll and has a record of 11 – 2 – 1. NelsonBased on her performance in the Monmouth Invitational 5k race with a time of 19:51, the teams 1st place finish at the event, and her excellent season Jennifer earned NJCAA Runner of the Week Honors.  OCC Women’s Cross Country is currently ranked number 1 in the NJCAA DIII National Poll and Jennifer is recognized as one of the top runners in the nation at this level.
