Women's Tennis Team Finished Second in the Nation at the NJCAA Division III National Tournament

The Ocean County College Women's Tennis Team finished second in the nation in Division III at the National Junior College Athletic Association Tennis Tournament in Tuscon Az. (The Tournament was held May 3 - 7, 2008) This is OCC's best finish in Women's Tennis. Head Coach Stan Friedman in his 2nd season at OCC led the Team to an undefeated finish in the Fall earning the Garden State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors and a 1st place finish. Listed below are OCC's first ever Women's Tennis All Americans:

Caitlyn Lawrence of Toms River at 3rd Singles
Melissa Wernoch of Manchester at 5th Singles
Ashley Shumard of Toms River and Mallory Garbarvage of Pinelands, 3rd Doubles team

Additional players on the team are Olga Brylevskaya, Maggie DeBendictis, Shannon Witte, and Rachael Bonafide.
