Intramural Frequently Asked Questions

We are so happy you are interested in the Intramural Program at OCC. Please check out the frequently asked questions below. If you need additional information, please contact the Athletic Department at 732.255.0345.

What time are the Intramural programs?

Intramurals are at the same time every Tuesday and Wednesday - 1:30p.m.-3:00p.m during the fall and spring semesters.  The schedule is subject to change based on campus events and facility availability.

I have class until 1:40p.m. can I come late?

Yes, you may come after class. You can also leave intramurals early if you need to.

When do you play volleyball, basketball, and dodgeball? Is it the same schedule every week?

Currently the schedule changes from week to week. We are keeping information on the most popular activities and will look to begin making a schedule around the interests of the participants.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR VALID COLLEGE ID EVERY SESSION - You CAN NOT play without one.  Your college ID must be valid - if it is expired go to the security office with a current schedule and get a sticker placed on it.

You must always have proper footwear. No one can play barefoot, and sneakers must be worn on the gym floor. You may wear cleats when we play outdoor sports such as soccer and flag football on the fields.

You should also bring water and sun block (if needed).

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing. Shorts are recommended for indoor and outdoor play, but not required. You can also wear layers so if you think it's chilly you can take off a layer as you warm up. There are locker rooms available in the gym for you to change before and after participation.

Do I need to be good to come play?

You do not have to be "good" to play. All skill levels are welcome.

Are there any special rules I should know?

Sportsmanship is a must. Be friendly, refrain from foul language, foul play, and keep all sports noncontact.
