OCC Women's Soccer finishes 2nd in the Nation!

Final Trophy

The women's soccer team played in the NJCAA National Division III Tournament semi-finals held at Richland College in Dallas, Texas. The team won the opening game, held on November 8, 2008, by a score of 3 - 1 over Rochester Community College. The women's soccer team then advanced to the finals; unfortunately losing the final game to Broome Community College by a score of 2-1. Four of the OCC Vikings earned All Tournament Team Recognition: Ashley Bechtle, Catherine Dyciewski, Kristen DeMuth and Stefanie Bonsky.

On behalf of the college community - Congratulations to the student athletes and the coaches for a job well done this 2008 season!


NJCAA District  C  Champions

WS District Champs

The #4 Ocean County College Women's Soccer Team (17 - 2) defeated #5 Oxford College of Emory (14 - 5) by the score of 2 - 0 to win District C and advance to the Final Four of the NJCAA National Tournament. 

District C encompasses schools from New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Western Pennsylvania, and Georgia.    

Dani Pagano, Kristen LaCour, Stefanie Bonsky, and Teresa Cambra were named to the All-District Tournament Team. 

The Vikings will now play on November 8th and 9th in the Final Four for the NJCAA Division III National Championship in Richland, Texas.

Women's Soccer Region XIX Champions

Ocean County College Women's Soccer Team won the Region XIX Division III Tournament with a 4 - 1 victory over Camden County College.  Danielle Pagano and Kristen LaCour were named Offensive and Defensive MVP respectively.  Region XIX consists of New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware.  The team has an overall record of 16 - 2 this season and is undefeated in NJCAA Division III play (11-0). 

The OCC Vikings will play in the District playoffs against the winner of Montgomery-Rockville vs. Oxford College of Emory Univ.at Montgomery-Rockville campus in Maryland on Sunday Oct.26th at 11:00am for a chance to play in the Final Four of the National Tournament.


 

Ocean County College Women's Soccer Team Earns Garden State Athletic Conference Championship

OCC W Soccer GSAC Champions

With a 5-0 victory over Gloucester County College on October 7th 2008, the Ocean County College Women's Soccer team went undefeated in Region XIX divisional play and the Garden State Athletic Conference division, earning them the Garden State Athletic Conference Title and the top seed in the Region XIX Tournament. 

This win earns Head Coach Karen Trump GSAC "Coach of the Year" honors and was also her 50th win in 6 seasons at the helm of Ocean County College Women's Soccer.  The team is currently ranked #3 in the NJCAA Division III National Poll.
