OCC Athletics Welcomes New Members to the Coaching Staff for the 2011 – 2012 Academic Year

The Ocean County College Athletic Department has hired four new members to the coaching staff for the 2011 – 2012 Academic Year. 

Ed McRae was hired on as the new Head Baseball Coach at Ocean County College.  Coach McRae has a wealth of experience coaching Baseball for 28 years.  While previously coaching at the junior college level, he was named Coach of the Year four times, and achieved 320 collegiate coaching victories.  Coach McRae has coached the USA Baseball Program, authored books and instructional videos on baseball, and currently works as the Athletic Director at the Atlantic Club in Wall Township, NJ.

Taurean Fisher was hired as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Ocean County College.  Coach Fisher was the assistant at Ocean County College for 3 years prior to being named the Head Coach and helped the team achieve a 5th place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament last season.  Coach Fisher is also a former standout Men’s Basketball player for the Vikings and has a lot of pride in Viking Tradition.

A.J. Trump was hired as the new Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Ocean County College.  Coach Trump served as the assistant coach the past 8 seasons and was part of building the program into a national contender.  In his time as assistant the team won four Region XIX Titles and qualified for the NJCAA National Championships three times.  Coach Trump brings a wealth of knowledge on how to run a successful program and the OCC Women’s Soccer Team is currently ranked first in the NJCAA National Poll.

Caitlin Toomey joins the Ocean County College coaching staff as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach.  Coach Toomey is a former 1st Team All-Shore Player and State Champion from Brick Memorial.  Coach Toomey attended Rowan University and was a starter for the Rowan University Women’s Soccer Team.  After her time at Rowan, Coach Toomey assisted the Brick Memorial Girl’s Soccer Program before joining the Vikings as the Assistant Coach.
