to a first place finish at the Washington
College
Open
In
extreme
wind conditions, 25-30 mph, Matt
Goetting
and Christine Restivo surfed their way to
a first place finish in the A division of
the Washington College Open. Greer
Scholes
and Kristin Asay finished third in the B
division. OCC
finished
second
overall to St Marys.
OCC's second
place
finish
qualifies Ocean County College to sail in
the prestigious War Memorial regatta. The
top
16
teams in MAISA ( 46 teams) sail
in
the
War. This year the War regatta will
be
held
in Annapolis at the Naval Academy on October
30,31. No junior college
has
ever
sailed in the War or been ranked in the
top 16. ( For non-sailors
this
is
the equivalent of be selected to compete
in
the
regional NCAA tournament.) OCC in its second
year
is going to the Big Dance. Once
