(SEC) offers one stop access to Ocean County College. At the SEC, students can process:

The SEC will be hosting a Thanksgiving Evening Student Coffee on Wednesday 11/18/09 and Thursday 11/19/09 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m.

The Boy Scouts of America will be scounting for food in the fight against HUNGER during the week of 11/16/09. Please fill up a bag of non-perishable groceries and drop it off at the Southern Education Center anytime during that week. Thank You for Your Support.

A representative from Georgian Court University will be at the SEC on 12/1/09 from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. for transfer information.

Accuplacer Testing is scheduled for Saturday 12/12/09 at 10:00a.m. at the SEC.

Challenge Testing is scheduled for Saturday 12/12/09 at
9:30 a.m. at the SEC.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Southern Education Center (SEC) is to provide leadership, support, academic excellence, and personal growth opportunities while continuously strengthening and improving Ocean County College's comprehensive student-centered culture. We accomplish this through collaboration with all college departments, by offering an academic extension site that includes credit and non-credit courses, educational, career, and personal development programming, as well as a wide range of student services tailored to develop student strengths, increase the college's student retention and student success rates, and to meet the needs of all constituents in the southern portion of Ocean County.

The Southern Education Center of OCC is located in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Our site includes state of the art facilities and offers a convenient location for students to apply to the college, register for courses, schedule advising appointments and make tuition payments in one central office. The Southern Education Center's proximity to Long Beach Island offers miles of the best, cleanest, white sandy beaches and ocean on the East Coast. Our location is accessible to the Garden State Parkway.
