Family Rooms

The PUMP Act is an important piece of legislation that helps ensure mothers have the support and resources they need to breastfeed their children. By providing a safe and private space for nursing mothers, the PUMP Act helps to remove some of the barriers that prevent women from breastfeeding.

The College has two designated Family Room locations that can be used by employees and students to express milk:

  • Health & Human Performance Center, Building 29, Room 145
    • locking door, chairs, counter, bathroom
  • Hovnanian Health Sciences, Building 102, Room 116
    • locking door, chairs, small table, sink

General Guidelines

  • Rooms are utilized on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Place trash in the garbage can.
  • Do not leave personal items in the room.
  • Please be respectful of time as others need to use the room. Limit room use to 30 minutes.

For Employees Only: Prior to returning from a leave of absence, a Lactation Accommodation Request form must be completed by the employee requesting an accommodation for lactation break. Submit the form to Human Resources.
