First Time Registrations

New Registration Quick Steps

  1. Visit https://ocean.sendwordnow.com/LicensePage.aspx
  2. Accept user registration agreement & press submit
  3. Enter your user information
  4. Click on the contact information tab
    1. Enter your contact information
  5. Press submit
  6. You will receive an email verification from Viking Alert
    1. Click the verification link in the email message


New Registration Detailed Instructions

Step 1: The User Registration Agreement  

  • Click the I agree radio button
  • Click the two check boxes:
    • I understand that my telecommunications carrier may charge regular voice and data fees for any messages I receive, and that I am responsible for these charges.
    • And I have read and understand the Privacy Policy
  • Press the submit button


Step 2: The Program Registration page:

The User Information Tab displays your name, user name and password options as well as a Deactivate Account button if you no longer wish to receive alerts. Type the following:

  • Your first name
  • Your last name
  • Your email address in the username field
  • Your password (At least 7 characters)
  • Your password a second time to confirm it
  • Press the next button

The Contact Information tab allows you to set alerts to be sent to your phone or email address:

For each phone number through which you would like to receive alerts do the following:

  • Select a label for the type of phone
  • Under location

Do not make changes if your phone number is a US or Canadian number

If your phone number is not a US or Canadian number click International and enter a country code

  • Type your phone number and phone extension for each phone number where you would like to receive alerts
  • From the dropdown list choose a cascade order to assign a priority level to each phone number
  • Click the check boxes under call and/or text to indicate whether you would like to receive a phone call, a test message or both
  • Click “Test It Now” to receive a test message on your phone

For each email address through which you would like to receive alerts do the following

  • Select a label for the type of email address
  • Enter the email address

Press the submit button


Step 3: The Verification page  

A confirmation email will be sent to your email address with the subject, “Viking Alert Registration Confirmation.”

  • Check your email for the message with the subject, “Viking Alert Registration Confirmation.”
  • Open the email message and click the link inside the message to complete your registration.
  • If you don’t see the email in your inbox, please check your SPAM or Junk Mail folders.
  • If you are unable to click the confirmation URL from within the email, please copy and paste the full URL into your web browser in order to confirm your registration.

After you click the link in your email, the conformation page displays.

You are now registered to receive Viking Alert.

Closed Registration Quick Steps

  1. Visit https://ocean.sendwordnow.com/ClosedRegistration.aspx
  2. Enter your college ID and the one-time use password
  3. Create a new user name and password
  4. Click on the Contact Information Tab to update your phone number or email address.
  5. Press submit to save your changes
  6. Press the log out link to log out of the Viking Alert system

Closed Registration Detailed Instructions

Please follow these instructions to create a Viking Alert account where you can update your contact information and subscription preferences.

  1. Visit https://ocean.sendwordnow.com/ClosedRegistration.aspx
  2. Type your college ID and the one-time use password.
  3. Press the authenticate button

After successfully authenticating the following text will display:  “Thank you! Your information has been authenticated successfully. Now, please choose a username and password to use on the site:”

  1. In the Username field type a new user name which you will use any time you need to log into the Viking Alert system to update contact information.
  2. In the Password field type a new password which you will use any time you need to log into the Viking Alert  system to update contact information.
  3. In the Confirm Password field retype your password
  4. Press the “Create User” button

The User Information Tab displays your name, user name and password options as well as a Deactivate Account button if you no longer wish to receive alerts.

  1. Press the next button or click on the Contact Information Tab to update your phone number or email address.
  2. Press submit to save your changes
  3. Press the log out link to log out of the Viking Alert system
     

How to Opt-Out

Opting Out of the system:

  1. Log in to the Viking Alert system
    The User Information Tab Displays
  2. Press the Deactivate My Account button
