Learn how to draw by working from still life and other inspirations. Emphasis will be on composition, lights & darks, elementary perspective, assessing proportion, modeling form and the proper use of materials.
This course will teach composition and design. Learn to paint subject matter that is of interest to you, including landscape, portraiture, and still life. The first class will include a lecture, demonstration, and information on materials needed.
For all experience levels. Acquaint yourself with the basic materials: pigment, paper, and brushes. Learn fundamental techniques of this classic media by depicting simple shapes and objects. Emphais will be understanding the role of both water and brush handling in the painting process as we progress to more complex still life motifs.
Pastels offer a versatile field of luminous artistic expression. After becoming acquainted with the supplies, we will focus on the basic ways of applying, blending and layering colors, using both pale and toned papers, and proceeding from simple studies of real objects to more complex still life composition.
You will receive instruction in your media of choice including pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, or collage. Working from still life arrangements as inspiration, participants will be guided in creating images using the classical techniques appropriate to their media. Take your camera off automatic and gain creative control of your images in manual mode. Explore the evolving media of digital photography, including digital capture and camera operation. Students will learn various techniques and camera functions, such as aperture and shutter speed, while creating original photographs

Learn how to use time and motion, lighting effects, and compositional techniques. Portraiture, landscape, action, and night photography will be explored. In addition, valuable workflow and storage options will be covered.

Learn advanced photographic techniques such as stop motion, window lighting, portraiture, still life, and more. Through critique and hands-on pratice, you will be able to sharpen both your technical and asethetic skills with the camera, as well as the post production editing in Adobe Photoshop. Special attentions will be given to difficult subject matter and mastering "tricky" lighting situations. Come prepared with a flash drive of images to work on and share.

This ten-week course will cover a basic introduction to this beautiful, classic dance form. Students will earn the graceful isolation movements for hips, arms, and abdomen, and gain an understanding of the music and rhythems of this dance. Students will also learn fun folk dances from Morocco, Eygt, Arabia, and Lebanon, along with use of finger cymbals.

This is a beginning class taught by a female instructor. It is a program specifically designed for women and their bodies. Learn the basics including the rules, etiquette, and swing fundamentals. Golf clubs are provided for those women who do not have equipment. All classes are taught by an Eagle Ridge Golf Academy instructor.
This class is for the intermediate player. Improve your "on-course" game. 4 hours of the class be on course. It covers all aspects of the game from full swing to short game. Strengthen and improve your mechanics, improve course and shot management while learning better ways to pratice. Your instructor will teach you new drills and practice techniques.
Students interested in entering the Associate of Applied Science ASL-English Interpreting Program may waiver 2 credit courses (Basic ASL I & II) by taking and passing this entrance exam. The exam will include receptive and expressive parts. Entrance exams will be given on Fridays and Saturdays from January through May. If you feel you have the skills necessary to pass our exam, please register by calling 732-255-0404. Registered students will be emailed back and assigned a date and time slot for the exam.
