Fri, Nov 17 at 7:00 p.m. – Scout Night: Calling all Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts! Join us for a special Scout Edition of our popular Stars from My Backyard Star Talk. Learn about the sun, moon, weather, constellations, and planets visible in the current sky.
Sat, Nov 4, Nov 11, & Nov 18; Thurs, Nov 9; and Fri, Nov 10 & Nov 24, and Sat, Nov 25 at 12:30 p.m. – The Stars from My Backyard: Live Star Talk for Kids! (Ages 4-10). Learn about the sun, moon, weather, constellations, and planets visible in the current sky. Fun stories, songs, and a passing rainstorm help make this an exciting introduction for young children.
Sat, Nov 4 & Nov 11, and Thurs, Nov 9 at 11:30 a.m. – One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure (Ages 4 & up). Explore the night sky with your favorite friends from Sesame Street! Follow along with Big Bird, Elmo, and their friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, as they take you on a journey of discovery to learn about the Big Dipper, North Star, Sun, and Moon.
Sat, Nov 11 at 2:00 p.m. – Secret of the Cardboard Rocket (Ages 5-12). From the boiling surface of the Sun to the icy rings of Saturn, children of all ages will be mesmerized by the incredible scenery as they discover the wonder of discovery! Embark on an outstanding adventure as two children spend a night touring the planets alongside their ship’s navigator, a plucky astronomy book. Learn fun and interesting facts!
Sat, Nov 18 at 2:00 p.m. – Kaluoka’hina: The Enchanted Reef (Ages 4 & up). Kaluoka’hina is the enchanted reef whose magic protects it against humans finding it. Colorful inhabitants have always lived in peace ... until a volcano erupts and the spell is broken! Now it’s up to the young sawfish, Jake, and his paranoid pal, Shorty, to restore the magic. Children will witness a one-of-kind underwater world that is jam-packed with adventure, danger, and riddles!

Sat, Nov 4 at 2:00 p.m. – Space Aliens: Looking for Life in the Universe (Ages 8 & up. NOTE: CONTAINS SOME SCARY SCENES). Join our alien experts – “Hopeful” and “Skeptical” – as they examine eXtra-terrestrial files and try to convince each other whether or not life exists beyond the Earth.
Sat, Nov 4, Nov 11, & Nov 18 at 7:00 p.m. – Wonders of the Autumn Sky (Ages 8 & up) Prepare to ask questions and even answer them when you join our live Planetarium presenter for an in-depth tour of the current sky over New Jersey! This ever-changing program explores the season’s constellations, bright stars, visible planets, deep sky objects, and celestial highlights. Mythology and recent events are included.
Sat, Nov 4 at 8:30 p.m. – Laser Metallica. Metal meets lasers! And it is intense! The theater shakes with Metallica’s awesome tempos, instrumentals, themes, and sounds that are joined with laser lights. Your pulse and body will pound as the music fills both your ears and eyes.
Thurs, Nov 9 at 2:00 p.m. – Laser Beatles. The “Fab Four’s” best spanning six years and 11 albums becomes the background for dazzling laser-art and spectacular effects. All ages will appreciate this fantasy tribute of music and light to The Beatles.
Fri, Nov 10 at 11:30 a.m. – Laser iPop. Music from your MP3 player in a spectacular laser light show! New music from today’s Pop charts mixed with a classic from the Jackson 5.
Sat, Nov 11 at 8:30 p.m. – Laser Bon Jovi. After ushering in the era of pop-metal, Bon Jovi grew out of the big-haired ’80s, to become one of the biggest American rock bands of its time. Bon Jovi became second only to Bruce Springsteen in defining the spirit and sound of New Jersey Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Sat, Nov 18 at 8:30 p.m. – Laser Rock. Space-faring guitars, distant worlds, and sneering skulls dominate this high-voltage journey through laser lights and music. This show will keep your head pounding long after the music ends!
Sat, Nov 25 at 8:30 p.m. – Laser Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon. This is a gripping and spellbinding musical journey – beautiful, haunting, powerful, and thought provoking with spectacular and mesmerizing laser art. Dark Side of the Moon offers a mixture of psychedelic, rock, and jazz sounds.
Sat, Nov 25 at 9:45 p.m. – Laser Pink Floyd: The Wall. Pink Floyd is always a crowd favorite and The Wall is considered to be one of the best classic rock albums of all time. It is a timeless classic, and one of Pink Floyd’s best, becoming the group’s second top seller behind Dark Side of the Moon.

Sat, Nov 25, Dec 2, Dec 9, Dec 16, Dec 23 at 7:00 p.m. – Season of Light with Free Star Talk & Laser Song! (Ages 7 & up). Explore the reasons humans are so fascinated with lighting up our lives during the holiday season. It’s an exploration of the astronomical meanings behind seasonal traditions, including the Star over Bethlehem. This is an elegant and sophisticated program about the coldest and darkest of seasons – a time that holds some of the warmest and brightest celebrations of the year. The show recounts the historical, religious, and cultural rituals practiced during the time of winter solstice – Christian, Jewish, Celtic, Nordic, Roman, Irish, Mexican, and Hopi.
Sat, Dec 2, Dec 9, Dec 16, Dec 23 at 11:00 a.m. NEW MOVIE! Khrumka's Adventures in the Winter Forest. On their way through the fairy tale winter forest, little Khrumka and his friends watch the Northern Lights, witness the flight of an asteroid, and admire the constellations of the winter sky. Thrilling rides, magic, and surprises await them on their fantastic full dome journey. NOTE: From 11-11:30, children will create a fun craft that they can use as part of the show! An interactive and beautiful new film, Khrumka’s Adventures in the Winter Forest is sure to become a holiday tradition for all patrons at the planetarium.
Tickets: $10 adults, $8 Seniors/OCC Alumni, $7 children 12 & under (unless otherwise noted). Tickets are available at the door but advance purchase is recommended.
