Academic Pathways

The major of Health Administration provides students with the skills to manage hospital and healthcare facilities including patient care, budgeting, and daily operations. Possible transfer opportunities in this field include: Stockton University, Bachelors of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration; Kean University, Bachelors of Science in Management, Bachelors of Art in Public Administration, or Bachelors of Science in Public Health; and Rutger’s University (New Brunswick Campus, Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy) offers a B.S. and Masters in Health Administration. Other transfer opportunities are available, visit the OCC Academic Advising & Transfer Services Office for more information.

Certified Project Manager (CPM) credential will be offered to students as part of the Health Administration course. The more advanced ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) board certification becomes available upon completion of an MS degree.

Health Administration, an Option to the Associate in Science in Business Administration
This option is a combination of the business and health professions, for persons who wish to pursue careers on the administrative side of the health care industry. This degree is ideal for students who wish to transfer and earn a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, as well as for students who wish to go to work immediately in a health care setting in a variety of positions, including as a patient access representative (with CHAM certification).
