An elective course designed to provide health information pertinent to Women's Health and Wellness for the new century. It may also be transferable into the Exercise Science, Women's Studies, and Nursing programs at four year institutions. Health care needs of women including promoting health, maintaining wellness, and common physical and psychological conditions pertinent to health are identified. Historical, political, economic and social influences will be examined for their impact on women as consumers and providers of health care. Strategies to empower women to change their outlook of how they deal with the present health care system will be explained.
