This course examines the origins of terrorism, its present status, and its implications for the future. It focuses on influences that lead to extremist views and terrorist activities and offers a dialog from which one may better understand, prevent, and survive terrorist behavior. The course also presents and overview of the nation's attempt to meet the threats posed by other man-made and natural disasters and highlights the importance of the rapidly growing security industry as a possible field of employment.
