This course focuses on the development of personal insight into the process of human communications through examination of theory, discussions and experiential laboratory exercises. Its major goal is to develop an understanding of the processes of human communication and to provide an opportunity for each student to experiment with his or her own personal communicative behavior. The course will also include theories of interpersonal relationships, and verbal and nonverbal skills necessary for effectiveness in the human services field. Required course for Human Services Technician majors.
