This course is a study of the development of women's literary history from the Middle Ages to the present with an emphasis on the works of the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries. This course examines the variety of literature that English-speaking women have produced between the 14th century and the present, paying special attention to the evolution of the female literary tradition and the changing definitions of the woman writer.
