The Office of Financial Aid is committed to helping you achieve your educational goals. Through TAG & PELL grants, NJ STARS scholarship, loans and work-study opportunities, we strive to ensure qualifying students receive the assistance they need to make their goals a reality while here at Ocean County College.
There are many costs associated with attending college. Tuition, fees, books and supplies are just some of these expenses. As a prospective NJ STARS student, you are probably wondering how you are going to be able to pay for your education. One of the advantages of attending Ocean County College (OCC) is its affordability. Its relatively low tuition combined with financial aid makes the challenge of paying for college considerably easier.
We are eager to help you obtain all the financial aid for which you and your family may qualify, but, in order for us to assist you, you must first take action. Your eligibility for financial aid and to participate in the NJ STARS program can only be determined from processed financial aid applications. If you would like to be considered for financial aid and the NJ STARS program, you must always submit an FAFSA and State application. Even if you believe you may not be eligible for aid, the NJ STARS program requires that all prospective NJ STARS students file their FAFSA and State aid application to determine their eligibility in the NJ STARS program.
Remember that filing for financial aid is an annual process. File your financial aid applications early, starting in October 1st for the upcoming academic year. Always apply early and follow up.
OCC have set priority deadlines to ensure that you do not miss your State deadline to participate in the NJ STARS and TAG programs.
- June 1, 2017 for all New and Returning fall students to complete and submit their FAFSA for the fall 2017 and spring 2018 year.
If you need help in filing your FAFSA please click here to sign up for one of our step by step FAFSA workshops. Also please review our NJ STARS preparation checklist to help you guide you through our admission process to Ocean County College.
