Their spare existence is interrupted by brief\, colorful bursts of music from the radio\, their only link to the romance and hope of the world at large. The action of the play is told through the memory of the illegitimate son of one of the sisters as he remembers the five women who raised him: his mother and four maiden aunts. He is only seven in 1936\, the year his elderly uncle\, a priest\, returns after serving for twenty-five years as a missionary in a Ugandan leper colony. For the young boy\, two other disturbances occur that summer. The sisters acquire their first radio\, whose music transforms them from correct Catholic women to shrieking\, stomping banshees in their own kitchen. And he meets his father for the first time\, a charming Welsh drifter who strolls up the lane and sweeps his mother away in an elegant dance across the fields. From these small events spring the cracks that destroy the foundation of the family forever. DESCRIPTION:Over seven months in the Arctic Circle\, our crews captured timelapse images of the Aurora Borealis with high-resolution digital SLR cameras outfitted with fisheye lenses. The results are spectacular. For the first time\, the aurora has been captured as it was meant to be experienced\, as a display that covers the entire sky. DESCRIPTION:How do STEM workers\, including NASA professionals\, cope with stress? Exercise is one way. Physical activity and fitness have been discussed in many NASA outreach efforts. However\, outreach efforts regarding other branches of health\, such as emotional\, psychological\, and social well-being\, are lacking. Given that jobs come with stress\, a global understanding of the science of stress and learning a healthy way to cope with it helps with the well-being of employees\, job productivity\, employee retention\, etc. Meditation is a powerful tool for maintaining psychological health and resilience. Since the planetarium offers a dark and quiet space for relaxation\, it is the perfect place for meditation. Victoria has appeared with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra chamber players\, at the Bard Music Festival\, the Music Mountain Festival\, in the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series at Merkin Hall\, at Summit Music Festival\, at Bargemusic\, in the Gessner- Schocken concert series in Cambridge\, WMP Concert Hall\, and the Nicolas Roerich Museum concert series in New York City. \nAfter graduating from Jerusalem Conservatory\, Victoria continued her education at the Longy School of Music and New England Conservatory. While pursuing various degrees in solo and chamber music performance\, she was selected to perform in masterclasses given by Dmitri Bashkirov\, Menahem Pressler\, and Richard Goode\, among others. Her principal teachers include Irina Kivaiko\, Issak Kossov\, Victor Rosenbaum\, Sally Pinkas\, Eda Shlyam\, and Eteri Andjaparidze. \nAs a soloist with orchestra\, Victoria has performed with the Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra\, the Longy School of Music Chamber Orchestra\, the Riverside Orchestra\, and the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra. She has performed at the Quartet Program in Pennsylvania and participated in the Tel-Hai International Piano Festival in Israel and the Lyrica Chamber Music Festival in New Jersey. \nShe is on the coaching faculty in the Vocal Department at Montclair State University as well as on piano faculty at the Bard College Conservatory Preparatory Division.. Victoria is also the co-founder of the Newburgh Music Festival\, a week long immersive classical music program devoted to both solo performance and chamber music\, located on the shore of the Hudson river\, in Newburgh\, NY. \nThis event is funded by the Ocean County College Foundation.
