Brooklyn Rider Live in Concert at Grunin Center September 29

Brooklyn Rider

Creative and adventurous string quartet Brooklyn Rider brings their innovative new project, The Four Elements, to the Main Stage at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College on Thursday, September 29 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $38-$32.

Brooklyn Rider, comprised of Johnny Gandelsman (violin), Colin Jacobsen (violin), Nicholas Cords (viola) and Michael Nicolas (cello), has carved out a unique space in the world of string quartets over the past 15 years, illuminating works of the past with fresh insight while coaxing the genre into the future through an inclusive programming vision.

With The Four Elements, Brooklyn Rider presents a bold new musical discussion on the future of our planet: a celebration of Earth’s wondrous mysteries designed to raise attention to the powerful forces of climate change, featuring music that symbolically represents the classical elements of earth, air, fire and water. Some of the works are drawn from the last one hundred years, a time marked by unprecedented planetary change, while others are newly commissioned scores by composers with unique global perspectives that reflect current realities and serve as a musical call to action.
