TOMS RIVER, NJ — The New Jersey Symphony returned to Toms River in July 2022 for a free outdoor concert at Ocean County College, sponsored by the Ocean County College Foundation.
The performance took place on Tuesday, June 28 at 8 p.m. and was open to the public. Admission and parking were free of charge.
Enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars as the Symphony performs musical favorites the whole family is sure to love. The program, conducted by José Luis Domínguez, features a tribute to Sondheim, Sousa’s ode to his time in New Jersey in The Atlantic City Pageant, Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville, Florence Price’s Juba Dance, and much more. The concert will also include a performance by violinist Timothy Shi, winner of the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra’s 2022 Henry Lewis Concerto Competition.
“Part of the mission of the Ocean County College Foundation is to bring programs of cultural and educational value to the greater Ocean County community,” said Kenneth J. Malagiere, Executive Director of the Foundation. “We are so very pleased to welcome the New Jersey Symphony back to Ocean County College as they celebrate 100 years of music and memories.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets for seating. Ohana Food Truck will be on site with food and beverages available for purchase.
