Program Description

Have you even wondered…

  • How your iPhone recognizes your face or how you are “tagged” in photos?
  • How a Digital Assistant such as Alexa or Siri is able to understand and converse with you?
  • How new types of antibiotics are being discovered that are able to kill strains of bacteria that had been resistant? (Source: MIT News)

It is the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that makes these features possible.

At OCC, we offer a 60-credit associate in applied science (AAS) program in Artificial Intelligence that a student can complete in just two years. OCC is proud to have worked with Intel to develop this AAS in Artificial Intelligence through Intel’s A.I. for Future Workforce Program. With this AAS degree students can go straight into the workforce upon completion.

For those students who already have a degree in computer science, we also offer an advanced certificate in artificial intelligence.

Salary & Growth

  • Annual salaries in this field range from $60,000-$110,000.
  • Over the next 5 years, there is a projected increase of 21 to 29% for computer system analysts, machine learning engineers, computer programmers and software quality assurance engineers.  There is projected 6.5% increase for computer research scientists.
