Remote Library Services

Access the OCC Library from Anywhere!

Looking for library help? Visit us in our temporary location in the Russell Building (#7 ). Students will have access to a computer lab, library materials, and a study space! Librarians and staff are available to help with your research and technology questions.

You can also access OCC Library services from your computer, tablet, or smartphone! Our online services allow you to browse our digital collections, find subject guides, chat with a librarian, and more.

Available Library Services

  • Our databases can be perused from anywhere. You can access them by logging into your Ocean Connect Account and clicking “Library Services” or by using the library course, LRIL-01-Library Resources and Information, linked in Canvas.
  • You can also view our subject guides if you seek more information concerning a specific subject
  • Articles and books may be requested using the blue “Request with Interlibrary Loan” button located in the catalog. If you have questions about our Interlibrary Loan service please email ill@ocean.edu to speak with our ILL Department
  • Visit our temporary Library location in the Russell Building (#7).
  • Library staff is available to answer your questions via Chat from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Have a question that pertains to a specific subject? See our Subject Librarian page to speak directly with a librarian who can assist you.

Our librarians are more than happy to work with any Ocean County College faculty member to bring information literacy instruction to the classroom in-person or through the WebEx platform. Please complete the appropriate following form 2 weeks prior to your class and we will contact you regarding instructional sessions.

There is a computer lab in the Russell Building (Room 135) with library technicians who are available to assist you. The computer lab is equipped with the following:

  • $.10/page for Black & White (Cash Only) 
  • $.25/page for Color (Cash Only) 
  • Copy Machine 
  • Scanner 
  • Chromebooks for Honorlock and Class Use (one-day or semester-long checkouts)

  • Springer eBooks: Online access to Springer’s eBook content, including thousands of handbooks, textbooks, reference works, book series, proceedings and monographs.
  • Films on Demand: Streaming video on topics including education, art, science, history, law, and more.
  • Flipster: An easy-to-use digital magazine newsstand.
  • Overdrive: Browse the library’s collection of ebooks and audio books. Use your Ocean Connect username and password to log in.
  • AVON: Academic Video Online is a comprehensive video subscription, spanning a wide range of subject areas and publishers, and curated especially for the educational experience.
  • Open to all OCC and Kean@Ocean students, faculty, and staff.
  • Use professional-grade equipment to record your own podcasts.
  • Walk-in or book in advance.
