On-Campus Events – Join Us!

Date: September 30, 2021
Time: 2 – 3:15 p.m.
Location: Gym – HPEC Bldg. #29

Feminist Self-Defense is not your typical self-defense program. Workshops are fun, affirming, and celebrate participants as the experts of their own lives.

Addressing violence as a cultural problem, Feminist Self-Defense provides scalable strategies to navigate a range of threatening interactions, from common “everyday” situations to more severe forms of violence. Participants are empowered to trust the wisdom of their bodies while learning tangible self-protection strategies. These include learning how to:

  • Manage your body language

  • Recognize and interrupt micro boundary violations
  • Understand and communicate boundaries
  • Stay out of the “danger zone” in a violent encounter
  • Escape physical control and get to safety

While changing the culture of violence is the ultimate goal, Feminist Self-Defense increases participants’ confidence and empowers them to have more control over what happens to their bodies and lives.

*Feminist Self-Defense welcomes all genders, fitness levels, and physical abilities!*

This event is hosted by the Counseling Center and Recovery Support Program, funded by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Contact the Counseling Center with any questions or to register: (732) 255-0386 or

Join us for a screening and discussion of the film: “Escalation”, from the One Love Foundation.

Escalation is a compelling film that tells the story of an abusive relationship –– from its sweet beginnings to the tragic end. The authentic depiction of unhealthy behaviors escalating into violence helps you recognize and understand the early signs of relationship abuse.

Date: Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 2:00 pm

Location: Gateway, 5th Floor

One Love’s mission is to end relationship abuse by educating young people about healthy and
